Finally a week of decent weather! Some frosty, foggy starts made the course maintenance week harder than hoped, but generally the sunny days were a real help.
Daylight until 6pm for the first time since October, and the clocks due to change in 3 weeks time - it really does feel like we are over the worst.
Plenty of golf available this weekend - obviously lots of sand around on the course - please be patient, and employ common sense - if the sand is in your way, just brush it aside, or if playing a friendly just move your ball.
The Texas Scramble on Sunday has a great turnout, and I'm sure there will be some good scores out there despite the conditions.
2025 Pro League
So, another great season of Pro League draws to a close …….. and LegMedMarks, who went home with the ‘wooden spoons’ in 2024, became the second team in Pro League history to make the leap from ’wooden spoons’ to Champions in the following year. Aided by significant reinforcement in the annual draft of new members, LegMedMarks were always in contention, going top of Pro League 2025 after the third round of fixtures and holding on comfortably to become our 2025 Champions. Congratulations to Hamish Porter and the entire LegMedMarks squad.
We have nothing else major planned for a good few months, so once we get some growth out there we should all benefit from some excellent playing surfaces during the season.
Course maintenance
Matt and the team just about managed to get everything done. Some days they had 2 or 3 hour delays due to the frost, but they have worked tirelessly all week, and managed to get all the greens tined, and all the fairways scarified, along with the spreading of numerous tons of sand.
They will need to finish off some bits early next week, a bit more sand on the greens to fill the holes, and get out with the brushes to keep brushing in, but Matt tells me it will all be worth it in the end!

I’m sure you recognise them all, but here are a few of our hard-working team.
The stream on 3rd hole
To follow up on an earlier epistle.
Should you or anyone in your playing group inadvertently end up in the stream on 3rd hole, maybe you would like to contribute to my chosen charity for this year, KSS Air Ambulance, either: via the collection boxes in the bar or Online with justgiving, by entering Piltdown Golf Club in the Search box.
