Are You Ready?

I am delighted to tell you that the course will be open for the weekend. However - please be aware it was a touch and go decision, it is still very wet out there. The last time we opened on a 50-50 day there were a few people who slipped over - so PLEASE - if you are playing during the weekend, make sure you are wearing winter appropriate golf shoes. The pimple soled shoes that are so popular in summer are no good for these conditions.

Despite all that, the weather looks to be bright and sunny, so let's hope this is the start of a good spell of weather.

Course maintenance

Next week will be all about getting the course ready for the season, but I'm afraid it does come with more disruption. The machinery hire and sand have been booked for months, so there was no way we could move it. However, it will all be worth it in the end, and the course will be recovered and ready to go in plenty of time for the return of Spring.

We will be scarifying the fairways and then spreading sand over the course. This will ensure better water and air penetration into the root zone and encourage healthy growth and better drainage going forwards.

Because of this, we will only have 9 holes open at a time for a few days.

From Monday to Wednesday, we'll have the Outer 9 open: so you start at the 12th, then play the 4th, and across the road to play 5-11. Then Thursday and Friday, we'll open the Inner 9: 1-3, then 13-18. Don't forget the Inner 9 is a measured course, so you can put cards in if you are so inclined.

Those of you with tee times booked, please note they are for 9 holes. If you want to play 18, then you will need to book 2 tee times.

Thank you for your understanding, we appreciate that course work can be frustrating, especially following such a wet spell, but it will all be worth it once the season begins.

Race Night - Saturday 8 March

Last chance to sponsor one of the 8 races for £25 and/or purchase horses for the evening! They are £3 each, or 2 for a fiver. The winning owner of each race will win a bottle of Champagne. You can add your name on the list on the notice board by the coffee machine or email us and we will do it for you.

Runners & Riders

You don't have to worry about payment; we'll charge your green card nearer the time.

We still have spaces for the evening itself. We could really do with a boost to the numbers to give us a better atmosphere on the night. Only £27.50 per person to include Supper during the interval.

MAGIC NIGHT - April 12th - Save the Date

We have a great evening lined up - 3 Magicians from the Magic Circle. A Maximum of 50 guests will be split into 3 groups. Each group will spend 20 minutes with each magician to see some close up magic, then get back together for a simple supper.

After supper each magician will put on a "stage show" to the 50 assembled guests.

A great chance for a fun night out to see some of the best magicians in Sussex.

Tickets will go on sale next week, so please get your tables together as soon as you can.
