Ladies' Captain's February newsletter

Unfortunately, the rain gods haven’t been listening to me and we have had a lot of rainy, grey, cold days since Christmas. We have managed some Thursday golf, but not as much as we would have all liked. With the snowdrops out and a better weather forecast for this next week, Spring isn’t far away…..I hope!

As most of you know, I moved house last year. My email has stayed the same, but my landline has changed: my new number is 01825372817. I am away for 2 weeks as from this weekend, so have a great time and I'll see you on my return.

Group Coaching

Jason will be doing 3 sessions of group coaching:

  • Wednesday26th March 10-11am…. Heather

The cost is £5 per session. Please sign up on the notice board in the ladies' changing room. The £5 will be taken off your green card on the day of the session. If you have signed up and can’t make it, please cross your name off, otherwise you will be charged.

G&T - March 10th

We have a lot of very enthusiastic members of the Academy and we're aware that getting out on the course is a massive barrier to beginners, so we've invited them to join in with our Golf & Tea events. We hope that a few of you will be happy to take them under your wings and show them that the course is a happy (if a bit frustrating), not a scary place!

Bring and Win - March 27th

Traditionally, The Bring and Win marks the start of our golf season. This year, the theme will be ‘Spring in the garden’. It will be a drawn competition, please bring a prize to a value of £10. There will be a light afterwards, which will be £12.

After lunch, we will have an open Forum. Please email me ahead of time with any questions, ideas etc. so I have plenty of time to give you a considered answer.

Ladies' Big Match Day and Rules Talk - April 3rd

We'll have a morning of some match play practice to get ready for the season: you will be playing against someone of similar handicap. At 1.30pm, Chris Spencer is going to talk through some golf rules. We have always found this very helpful and interesting.
