The thirteenth hole is a right-to-left dog-leg which is played over much dense heather. The marker post in the centre of the fairway represents the ideal line for the tee shot. The longer the drive, the narrower the fairway becomes and, as the ground falls away to the right and the hole moves to the left, this does not necessarily guarantee a shorter approach shot to the green. The second shot must negotiate further heather to find a well protected green which is quite long and undulating. A steep heather bank to the left and grassy swales to the right penalise an inaccurate approach shot.
