PILTDOWN GOLF ACADEMY 2012 

Piltdown Golf Club offers a Golf Academy, to benefit Beginners who want to start golf, and those who wish to return to the game after a long absence. It is designed to help prospective members into the Club, especially those who have not played much golf.  It is sometimes difficult to join a golf club unless you already have a handicap, and the only way to get a handicap is to join a golf club.  The Academy breaks into this vicious circle.

Year 1  Beginners Package

The package for one year costs £250, which entitles you to:-

• six half-hour group lessons with the Professional (value £100)
• free use of the practice facilities (driving range, putting green, chipping green)
• 20 baskets of practice balls for the driving range (value £50)
• loan of golf clubs if required
• 36 holes of golf on the course with a member in full or part rounds (value £75)
• use of the clubhouse bar, lounge and catering and use of a bar swipe card for members discount.
• £100 deduction from the Entrance Fee when transferring to Full membership

At the end of the year you may either apply for full membership of the Club, or, if you and the Professional feel you are not ready for this, apply for a Year 2 Developers Package in the Academy.  

Year 2 Developers Package

The package for Year Two costs £500, which entitles you to:-

• six half-hour group lessons with the Professional (value £100)
• free use of the practice facilities (driving range, putting green, chipping green)
• loan of golf clubs if required
• Afternoon golf on the course one day per week (after midday on weekdays; or after 2.00 pm at weekends)(value for 20 rounds £500)
• Submission of Day Cards for CONGU handicap allocation and control but not including entry into Club competitions
• use of the clubhouse bar, lounge and catering and use of a bar swipe card for members discount.
• £300 deduction from the Entrance Fee (inclusive of year 1 deduction of £100) when transferring to Full membership

At the end of the year you may either apply for full membership of the Club at a discounted Entrance Fee or leave the Academy.

Early Transfer to Full Membership

For those individuals who demonstrate rapid progress in the development of their golf skills

within the framework of the Academy package, the following will apply:

• an individual who joins the Academy as a Beginner or Returner to Golf but then demonstrates that they are a competent golfer will immediately be considered for Full membership and may have their Academy fees more fully credited to their Entrance Fee.
• A competent golfer will not be eligible for a Year 2 package but would be considered for Full membership.
