Skilfully carved out of ancient Sussex heathland in 1904, Piltdown Golf Club enjoys a colourful history, a stunning location, and a devoted following among golfers young and old. Visitors are drawn again and again to our challenging heather-lined 18 hole course, excellent practice facilities and welcoming period clubhouse.
We are a friendly, inclusive club with something for everyone: a challenging course for the experienced golfer, a blue tee course for the beginner or older member, an active ladies' section, regular mixed foursomes, frequent social events and a magnificent catering team.

An undercover driving range is situated at the southern end of the main car park (tokens for the range balls can be purchased from the Professional's shop). At the end of the range we also have an indoor swing room with modern club fitting technology and a golf simulator.

The Clubhouse is a listed building, dating from around the late 18th Century. It has not lost its simple style or its atmosphere despite various extensions to modernise and improve the facilities. The Clubhouse may no longer be the rustic farmhouse that won Henry Cotton's affection, but it remains, as a visitor recently said, "a sort of country inn with golf course attached". There are two dining rooms: a formal one, which can accommodate 40 people, and the "Piltdown Room" with a capacity of 16 to 18 people in less formal surroundings.
